Honouring Our Past Events May-September 2026
Women and Girls' Cricket Heritage Day
Wednesday 3rd June 2026
at The Grange Club, Stockbridge, Edinburgh
11.30–4.30: share your cricketing memories with other former and current players - we really want to hear the memories that you have. If you have any photos or clothing we would love to see them too. The hidden nature of the history of women and girls’ cricket in Scotland means that we have almost no information – so anything you have to tell us is important!
11.45-12.30: talk about our Catching History project – documenting the first official Scotland Women’s team of 2000 (in The Long Room in the Pavilion). Please register for a (FREE) ticket https://tinyurl.com/scotwomcricket .
You can find out more about the Honouring Our Past project on our website: www.bayfirth.co.uk/women-s-cricket-research.
If you cannot make it to The Grange on 3rd June, we still want to hear from you!
You can complete the contact form here: www.bayfirth.co.uk/share-memories or email Fiona at fiona.reid@bayfirth.co.uk. We can speak on the phone, by video link or come to visit you if it is more convenient.
Honouring Our Past Heritage Day takes place alongside the Women’s T20 Tri-Series – Scotland v Netherlands match (1pm).

Honouring Our Past
Celebrating and Documenting Histories of Women and Girls' cricket
Partnering with Cricket Scotland and the SWAGCRN we are collecting oral histories and memorabilia from the past to start to document the history of women and girls' cricket in Scotland.
Look out for events, webinars and where to send your own stories or pictures as we develop the project over this summer of cricket.
In the meantime, please email us with your contact details and when you were playing cricket (at any level) at fiona.reid@bayfirth.co.uk and we will get back in touch with you to hear more about your experiences..
Do you recognise any of these cricketers from St George's School, Edinburgh 1st XI in 1932?

Project 2028
Proposal to create an exhibition to celebrate 150 years since the first known recorded women's cricket match in Scotland in 1878.
A review of the evidence from the past 150 years revealed that there is a lot of research required to document the history. There is almost no documentary or published material and there is only a limited archive.
Cricket Scotland have started to award retrospective caps to those who represented Scotland since 2000 - a group is pictured here in 2019 (photo courtesy of Cricket Scotland).
